
Richard Parker
Richard Parker is a 25-year industry veteran specializing in public relations and strategic partnerships, with a career spanning influential roles at the Late Show with David Letterman, Central Talent Booking, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, and Hill & Knowlton. As the founder and principal of RKP Media, Parker leads an award-winning marketing and communications firm dedicated to helping brands achieve measurable growth.
Prior to launching RKP, Parker was a Media Relations Specialist at the renowned, global communications firm, Hill & Knowlton, where he spearheaded US media relations for Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Due to his long-standing press relationships and vast knowledge of the broadcast media landscape, Parker worked with colleagues in the US and global teams in London, Dubai, Seoul, and Istanbul, providing counsel and strategy for a host of clients seeking exposure on national shows such as Today, Good Morning America, Fox & Friends, Saturday Night Live, The View, The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live, among others. While at H&K, Parker leveraged relationships to negotiate a cross-platform takeover of the ABC Network and secure news anchor Diane Sawyer to host an ABC News 20/20 Primetime Special, “The Untold Stories of ‘The Sound of Music’ to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the iconic film. Ms. Sawyer traveled to Austria with Ms. Julie Andrews to conduct a sit-down interview and tour filming locations. Parker spent two weeks in Salzburg scouting locations around the city and neighboring Germany while working closely with Ms. Andrews and ABC News producers to coordinate the 2-day shoot. ThePrimetime Special aired in March 2015 on ABC. It was the first of five airings on the network and was watched by over 7.5 million people.
During his time at H&K and RKP, Parker has led campaigns for hundreds of film and television titles, including Ad Astra, American Horror Story, Ant-man and the Wasp, Big Little Lies, Bohemian Rhapsody, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Deadpool, Family Guy, Ford v Ferrari, Frozen 2, Game of Thrones, Indiana Jones, The Greatest Showman, The Martian, The Post, The Revenant, The Simpsons, Star Wars, The Super Mario Bros Movie, Toy Story 4, and Us
Prior to H&K, Parker was the East Coast Publicity Coordinator at Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation in New York. He worked on theatrical marketing campaigns for I, Robot; Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith; Borat, Kingdom of Heaven; Mr. & Mrs. Smith; X-Men: The Last Stand; The Family Stone; and Walk the Line, and many others.
In 2001, Parker landed his first job out of college at Celebrity Talent Booking, a boutique celebrity booking agency, where he booked celebrities for cover stories and inside features in O, The Oprah Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, and UK Cosmopolitan, and on national shows such has Hollywood Squares, Dinner for Five with Jon Favreau, Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater and the Comedy Central New York Friars Club Roast. He also assisted booking teams at Late Show with David Letterman, Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, MadTV, and the CBS Early Show.
Parker began his career at the Late Show with David Letterman where he assisted the show’s team of celebrity bookers coordinate logistics for appearances by some of the biggest movie and tv stars, athletes, chefs, politicians and musical acts on the planet.
A native of Thomaston, Alabama, Parker currently lives in New York City.
